Concrete Plant Marketplace Review:
New and Used Con-E-Co Concrete Batch Plants
Con-E-Co reigns as the premier batch plant manufacturer to many in the concrete industry. You will find few people that would attempt to dispute that Con-E-Co currently manufacturers some of the best concrete plants available. They are well designed, constructed and offer some of the most advanced onboard features of any concrete plant manufactured today. Unfortunately Con-E-Co concrete plants carry a price tag that is reflective of all their recent accolades.
It is important to understand some history on Con-E-Co before moving further into this review. Historically, Con-E-Co was considered an average batch plant. It wasn’t until Con-E-Co was purchased by the Oshkosh Corporation in 2004 that they became recognized as a premier batch plant manufacturer. This makes understanding and pricing used Con-E-Co batch plants tricky. There are many older Con-E-Co plants that are being sold for more than they are really worth because of the reputation Con-E-Co built after they merged with Oshkosh.
If you are considering buying a new Con-E-Co plant then understand with Con-E-Co you are getting a top of the line plant. Customers of modern Con-E-Co plants boast about the plants simple and low maintenance requirement and low down time. They boast about the reliability, ease of erection, and the overall time savings that owning a Con-E-Co plant affords. The most common complaint about a Con-E-Co plant is their high pricing in comparison with similar plants manufactured by other companies. They also complain about adding expensive features such as self erection to a plant that isn’t moved often enough to justify the original cost of the feature.
If you are considering purchasing a used Con-E-Co you have a more complex task. Be cautious of overpriced plants caring the Con-E-Co name. Understand, Con-E-Co didn’t manufacture bad plants before 2004, but they were not the same top of the line plants manufactured today. Con-E-Co plants manufactured prior to 2004 where good plants, but there are a lot of other comparable plants prior to 2004. Don’t be fooled by a mid 1990’s Con-E-Co priced above other similar plants on the market because it carries the Con-E-Co name.
Later model Con-E-Co concrete plants should not be confused with the earlier model plants. Later model Con-E-Co equipment tends to be congruent with the high standard and reputation that the Con-E-Co concrete plants are recognized for today. Later model Con-E-Co plants tend to be slightly more expensive than plants manufactured by others, but this is due in part to the high quality, durability and ruggedness associated with Con-E-Co equipment.
Typically, the used concrete batch plant market offers a fair inventory of late and newer model used Con-E-Co dry batch and central mix plants. The market for used Con-E-Co plants is also stable and consistent in both price and activity. Well priced plants or distresses sales tend to move in the secondary market quickly.

The company has indicated they plan to expand the site to include other tools and data to help buyers and sellers connect more easily and efficiently, but emphasize the simplistic nature of the page will remain the same.
